Privacy Policy

The short version

We do not collect, transmit, sell or share personal information. There is no login, no contact form, no newsletter and no advertising. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, so the income and expense figures you type are never sent to us or to anyone else.

What we do not collect

Specifically, this site has none of the following:

• No accounts, logins, usernames or passwords.
• No contact form, comment system or support ticket system.
• No analytics, telemetry, page-view tracking or session recording.
• No advertising, ad networks, affiliate links or sponsored placements.
• No third-party trackers, pixels, beacons or embedded widgets from other companies.
• No browser fingerprinting.
• No cookies of any kind, first-party or otherwise.
• No localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB. Nothing you type is saved, so it is also gone when you close the tab.

Because there is nothing collected, there is nothing to request a copy of, correct, export or delete. If you are looking for data about yourself here, the honest answer is that none exists.

Where your figures actually go

Nowhere. The tax calculation runs in JavaScript on your own device. The numbers you enter are held in the page in front of you and are not transmitted.

Every page on this site is built ahead of time into a static HTML file. There is no back end that receives your input, because there is no form to submit and nowhere to submit it to.

Cookies and local storage

None. This site sets no cookies and stores nothing locally in your browser. Because no cookie is set, there is no cookie banner and no consent to give.

Fonts and other assets

The typeface used on this site is served from this site's own domain rather than from a font service such as Google Fonts. Loading a page therefore does not notify any third party that you were here, which is the usual reason font services are a privacy question.

No asset required to display a page — script, style, font or image — is loaded from another company's domain.

Our hosting provider

The site is served from Cloudflare's network. In order to deliver a page to you, Cloudflare necessarily handles the connection, which includes your IP address and the time of the request, and may keep logs of it for security and operational purposes. That processing is done by Cloudflare underCloudflare's own privacy policy, and Cloudflare is the right party to contact about connection data it holds.

We do not add anything to those logs, join them to anything else, or use them to build a profile of you.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to official resources such as IRS forms and instructions. Those are other organisations' websites, governed by their own privacy policies, and we have no control over what they do once you follow a link. Check the destination before entering anything personal.

Children

This site is a tax tool for adults and is not directed at children under 13. Since it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it. The most likely reason for a change would be that the site started collecting something it does not collect today. Given the design, that would be a deliberate decision rather than a side effect, and it would be described here before it happened.
